FRAMEWORK OF A POOL

A Pool Story :

Swimming pools come in many shapes, sizes and types. Our pools story will take you through all the elements that go into making a good swimming pool and give you a quick overview of what its various components are.

  1. Decking – Available in a variety of styles, you can choose from concrete (exciting new finishes), brick (sophisticated appearance), stone (natural look), pavers (similar to stone but less expensive) or even wood (natural or simulated)

  2. Coping – Gives your pool a smart edge. Can be made of pre-cast concrete (traditional bull nose), brick (to set of decking), stone (reminiscent of a rocky shoreline) or cantilevered (design for seamless pools)

  3. Ladders – Made of stainless steel, apart from letting you in and out of the swimming pool are a necessary addition at both shallow and deep end, if no walk-in steps are installed.

  4. Drains – Typically located at the deepest end of the pool, help to remove sunken dirt and debris. They work in conjunction with the pump to remove excess water from the pool. As a safety measure these drains are covered with anti-vortex, anti-hair entrapment covers.

  5. Skimmers – These are devices which help in re-circulating water back to the filter and pump. They primarily keep the water clean by collecting floating debris via the suction line of the pump. A removable basket perforated with holes inside the skimmer traps large solids and can also double as a chemical dispenser.

  6. Special Features – The features and options for your pool are limited only by your imagination. These can range from waterfalls, rock formations, fountains, graduated beach entries, swim-up bars and sliding boards.

  7. Diving boards, loveseats, cozy corners, underwater benches, islands, bridge walkways, vanishing edges and integrated spas and child pools.

  8. Walk-in steps.

  9. Lighting – LED offering changing color (16 modes) and energy saving, available with remote control operation or Conventional underwater lights for safe evening swim.

  10. Pumproom – The nerve centre of a good pool. This houses the pump – which keeps the water flowing, filter – which keeps the pool clean, controls – which operates all of the equipment, lighting and water features, heater – to warm the water etc.

  11. Return Inlet – A fitting through which water under positive pressure returns into the pool afer being filtered.
